  1. Based on what I have heard, I don’t think Adnan committed the crime. It seems to me that he was just a regular teenager who went through a break up. According to Hae’s diary, Adnan was a very caring guy who she was deeply in love with. Other sources, such as his friends, claim that they never saw any signs of their relationship being anything out of the ordinary. However, her friends thought he was crazy because they felt like he never gave her enough space. The court made him seem as over possessive but his closest friends couldn’t come up with examples why. I think the court was over exaggerating everything and they just wanted the crime to be solved. The court even tried to blame the reason of the death on his religion. But even Adnan claims that he wasn’t even that religious and that he would only be playing when he would blame her. Matters became worse when Jay’s statement claimed that Adnan was heart broken and personally said, “Ima kill her”. Although that is a very specific statement, I feel as though there wasn’t evidence for him to get locked up for that long.

    1. they simply made him look like the bad guy because they needed someone to blame and Jay said it was him so why not believe it? why not take every little bad thing that has been said about Adnan and pile it onto what these few people think. why not lock up the only name that has been mentioned?

  2. I say normal teenager who went through a breakup. The way he described himself being locked up seemed genuine and honest, like why would he had really wanted to kill her? It doesn't make sense. I feel like Jay has more to this then he lets on. He's the reason why Adnan is there in the first place since that's the only “witness” there was that day. In Hae’s diary there's nothing but good things about Adnan and mind you SHE was the one that spent the most time with him, not anyone else. Maybe he was good at covering his intentions but even then He would definitely sensed something.

    1. The relationship seemed so normal it just doesn´t make any sense for Adnan to want to kill her.

  3. From what we have listened to so far i think that Adnan is innocent. His story just seems so normal things that happen to every high school couple. They just seemed like your typical couple in high school that didn´t work out. When asked Adnan´s friends all said the relationship seemed pretty normal no one ever noticed anything that would have been alarming or concerning. Also in Hae´s diary she talks about how head over heels she was for him and how much it showed that Adnan cared for her. In my opinion there just isn´t enough evidence for Adnan to have been convicted of this crime. Nor was there motive.

  5. I think adnan did not commit the crime. you can just hear it in his voice when he talks, they seemed like a regular high school couple and i cant seem to find any motive on adnans behalf for him to kill his girlfriend

    1. I agree with you because even though Adnan feels sad, mad, etc. He'd never showed sort of spite against Hae Lee

  6. I think Adnan is innocent. Based on the perspective of Hae's and Adnan's friends. Everything seems normal, it started out as a dare but then they fell in love. Sarah says that Hae dairy is mostly about Adnan and how deeply in love she was. Sarah also talks to some of Hae's friend and they said that sometimes Adnan was too involve with Hae but she didn't seem bothered by it. In Hae's dairy she describes the best moments she had with Adnan and also some fights that only seem like a normal teenager fight. She said that it was bad that Adnan's religion got between their relationship and that Adnan once called her "devil" but when Sarah talks to Adnan he says he never felt that ways that if he called her devil once it was just joking. Adnan says he waswas that religious. And that he was hurt and felt sad because of the break up but that he wasn't crazy sad to the point of killing Hae. Although they had to keep their relationship a secret from their parents they had a system and made it work. After speaking to many people Sarah says that no one from the ones she had talked to said that Adnan acted weird after the break up that he continued to smoke and even was intrested in other girls, so hes religion wasn't the motive. Neither anger because he acted like a normal teenager after the break up. Based on all the things that's been said in chapter two their is not enough eveidence to prove that Adna killed her out of anger or because his pride was hurt.

  7. From my point of view, adnan is just an innocent teenager who went through a break up. As we can see, most of the people’s testimonies are directed against Adnan (including Jay’s) most likely because he was her boyfriend and he could’ve done something to her just because he was feeling resentful or sad about the break up. People knew he was going to feel jealous, also mad, but it shouldn’t be a reason to say that Adnan commited the crime. Adnan was feeling bad about the breakup, but he also said that he started talking to other girls (which make me think that he didn’t kill Hae Lee for the breakup.

  8. I believe that Adnan is innocent, because of his story and other people perspective. All from his friend and family. They all said that he was a pretty normal and kind students. Adnan took the break up normally like a teenager,Feeling sad and depressed, But he didn't go his way to choke someone out. IF Adnan actually did killed his ex. In episode 2 they didn't say anything about Adnan being violet after the break up beside smoking. We also know that Adnan is a religious person and go out of his way for Hae, even hiding it from his parent, whose are forbid to date. But when dons come around, He was jealous but they didn't say what he was doing during that time. But i dont think that would make him choke Hae Lee. If Adnan did kill Hae, He would've pick the 7 years in jail to be free instead of spending his whole life in prison.

  9. I think Adnan is innocent. Based on the information given to us in this episode. The narrtor, Sarah says that she has in possession Hae's dairy and that in the dairy Hae describes her loving relationship with Adnan. Hae describes Holden in a good and loving way. She talks about how she was deeply in love with him. She also wrote about some fights they had with each other but only over small things such as not answering each others text fast enough. Sarah talked to Adnan's and Hae's friends and they all said that after the brake up Adnan didn't act strange but like a normal teenager who went trhough break up. Adnan was hurt and sad because of the break up but not crazy sad that he would kill Hae. After listening to Sarah and the people she talked to there is still not enough evidence to prove that Adnan killed Hae.

  10. In classroom from what we have listened to so far i think that Adnan is innocent. His story just seems so normal things that happen to every high school couple. The thing is that, there are a lot of sides on the story, people might have it's opinion about it or might or might not agree with, my comment.

Episode 5 - Route Talk

Route Talk- Based on Sarah's experiment, cell tower information,  and Adnan's story, does the state's timeline for murder seem possible? Does Sarah's "test run" seem realistic to commit a murder? Imagine you are the detective in this case and answer this question: To what degree does Sarah's experiment corroborate Jay's story? Is it truthful enough to convict Adnan, is it so impossible that you have to throw out Jay's testimony, or is it somewhere in the middle? Explain your decision. Please answer in paragraph form and comment on at least two other people's answers. All responses are due by Tuesday, 11.19 @ 11:59PM

Episode 7- The Opposite of the Prosecution

In Sarah's discussion with Deirdre (the lawyer from the innocence project), Deidre states that innocent clients are the least helpful because they don't know what to say, and that the case against Adnan is "very thin" (meaning that there isn't a strong case against him).  Explain Deidre's ideas about Adnan's case and whether you agree with her ideas or not. Also, why isn't Don a suspect?  Please respond with at least one paragraph and comment on at least two posts.  All posts and responses are due by Monday, 12.16 @ 8am.
